Access Vision
Access Vision provides colour contrast advice that facilitates the selection of fascia and worktop colours.
Working closely with the RNIB* Cymru Richmond has devised a colour contrast table that advises the LRV (Light Reflective Values) reading between fascia colour and worktop colour. This enables the detailed selection, depending on need, of a fascia and worktop combination.

Sight loss is relatively common in the population of older people. One in twelve people over the age of 60 and one in five over 75 is registered as blind or partially sighted.
Simple design features can help people live safely and independently. Effective colour contrast is one way in which the ability to detect different surfaces can be achieved, making it easier and safer to move about and use the environment.
Though particularly effective for people with sight problems effective colour contrasting will make the environment safer for everyone, especially older people. Source: RNIB* Cymru
