Commitment to environmental practices
Richmond is primarily concerned with the manufacture and supply of wood-based furniture products and related items. It acknowledges the impact of timber usage on the world’s natural resources and actively seeks to source material from sustainable sources.
The company supports and is committed to the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests by compliance to the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council, FSC. (For Melamine Faced Chipboard.)
The FSC is an international network that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests to a level, which in addition to legality and sustainability, takes account of social issues in the country of harvesting.
As a result, Richmond only purchases timber and timber based products, which are sourced from certified sustainable sources that do not contribute to the destruction of the world’s forests.
Through the commitment to FSC, Richmond is committed to correct environmental practice and a sustained forestry environment for the future.
